At last the sun came out for a lovely second pick of the season from three different addresses in Whalley Range and 5 trees. Produce collected will be donated to FareShare Greater Manchester which redistributes food to over 90 charities and community groups in Manchester to help people facing hardship. Thanks to all who helped and for the delicious muffins offered to us by Rachel, Laurie, Riley and Edie!
Late summer picking!

Hi I think your project is fantastic.
Thinking of putting an email out to our plot-holders to see if anyone wants to contribute. When do you guys stop picking?
Also can you offer any advice on community orchards? We planted one this year and are struggling with maintaining it, a few of our trees have not survived the summer.
Hi Phillippa, and thanks! We’ll still be picking for a good few weeks I reckon, so please do let us know if anyone wants anything harvesting on your site (only if it’s going spare, we’re not looking for ‘donations’ as such). I’ll also send you a poster to put up if you want. The other possibility is that we establish a box on the site that people can drop surplus stuff in themselves, if you’d be able to get it to our little hub in West Didsbury (in the car park of the Bridge Club on Palatine Road). Let us know either way. Best to email Abundancemanchester@yahoo.co.uk or ring 07967 227 981 if you want to discuss. Re. the orchard, again best probably to have a chat, although we’re by no means experts! If you fancy chatting while we work, come along to our pick this Sunday, we’re meeting at 203 Oswald Road, Chorlton M21 9GN at 1pm. Cheers.
Hi we have just mentioned Abundance in our blog, have a look any comments will be welcomed. Thanks
Ace, thanks!
